Field Application Engineer

A Field Application Engineer (FAE) plays a crucial role in providing technical support and solutions to customers in a field setting. As an FAE, you will work closely with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and integration of products or solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and assistance to customers during the pre-sales and post-sales stages. Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements, conduct product demonstrations, and address technical inquiries. Troubleshoot complex technical issues, diagnose problems, and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
  2. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Conduct regular site visits and meetings to understand their needs, gather feedback, and provide ongoing technical support. Serve as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolution.
  3. Product Implementation: Conduct product installations, upgrades, and system integrations at customer sites. Work closely with customers to ensure seamless implementation and customer satisfaction. Provide training and guidance to customers on the effective use and maintenance of products.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and product development, to address customer needs and requirements. Communicate customer feedback, technical issues, and enhancement opportunities to the relevant teams. Participate in product development discussions, contributing technical insights and recommendations.
  5. Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project milestones. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction. Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
  6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, technical issues, and solutions provided. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and training materials as needed. Contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization by documenting best practices and lessons learned.
  7. Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and product advancements. Continuously develop and enhance technical knowledge and skills through self-learning and training opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline).
  • Languages Dutch, English, French
  • Hybrid working space
  • Proven experience as a Field Application Engineer or in a similar technical customer-facing role.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Knowledge of relevant software/hardware systems and technologies.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as required.
