Meinberg is pleased to announce the launch of the IMS-PSX201, the latest in its line of best-in-class multifunction network timing modules for Meinberg IMS LANTIME modular time server systems. The new IMS-PSX201 offers two discrete network interfaces for PTP, NTP, and Synchronous Ethernet.
The IMS-PSX201, a PTP, NTP, and Synchronous Ethernet solution that provides maximum performance, maximum redundancy, and maximum security in 1 Gigabit networks, provides out-of-the-box support for all published IEEE1588-2008 profiles, including the SMPTE ST 2059-2 profiles for broadcasting, the ITU-T G.8265.1, G.8275.1, and G.8275.2 telecom profiles, and the IEEE C37.238-2011, IEEE C37.238-2017 und IEC 61850-9-3 power profiles.
A single IMS-PSX201 module can be operated not only as a PTP grandmaster and slave clock (for the generation of other non-PTP clock signals), but also as a boundary clock between two separate subnets thanks to the two discrete onboard network interfaces. This provides not only a cost-efficient solution for boundary clock operation but also essentially halves the number of module slots required in your IMS LANTIME system for your PTP network.
The IMS-PSX201 also provides full PRP support for PTP and NTP traffic in accordance with IEC 62439-3:2016, making it ideal for use in IEC 61850 power systems to provide full network redundancy.
Like the IMS-HPS100 and IMS-PSX210 before it, the IMS-PSX201 operates entirely independently of other modules installed in the IMS LANTIME system, allowing PTP, NTP, and Synchronous Ethernet traffic running through it to be fully isolated from the management interfaces of your IMS LANTIME system.
